Dog eyeglasses - the story of an unusual idea

The idea was born - quasi together - by the Gasteiner avalanche dog squad and one of their rescue dogs.

This dog's strong binding skin inflammation led it and its owner to the gasteiner optician Reinhold Kreyca. The optician thought and fiddled for a while and finally tinkered a special eye protector for dogs.

After several trials and modifications then the first custom-made dog eyeglasses saw the light of the world, assembled from break-proof glass and 100% UV protection. Through this prototype first contacts to some acknowledged eyeglass manufacturer was established and from the the cooperation with those manufacturers the dog eyeglasses in its current form evolved.

The dog eyeglasses are produced meanwhile in the third generation, after some teething troubles the enterprise today can provide eyeglasses for all dog races, and extending the range of products with the model row "mini" early this year also small dogs do have the safe "looks through"!

What's the use of dog eyeglasses? As mentioned above the original purpose was to provide eye protection for dogs in rescue services and the like. At that time no one, even the inventor could imagine that in a short while this unusual idea would cause sensation even in leisure and private range.
